hope does not disappoint

Brett and I are approaching a very exciting week. Next Tuesday we are closing on our house in Garland! Everything was cleared a couple of days ago, and I am so relieved that everything has gone as smooth as it has. Today I have been reflecting on the Lord's faithfulness throughout this experience.

I have been praying for not only a home for us, since probably the end of November, but I have also been praying for closer community. Since Brett and I have been living nearly 35-45 minutes away from our church family it has been nearly impossible for us to spend time, outside of church services, with people. I wrote down this January that "closer community" was something I would hope and ask Jesus for this semester. In Romans 5 it says that His "hope does not disappoint". So many times in my life I have been fearful and hesitant to ask the Lord for things I wanted, good things, not sinful things. I felt selfish and as if I was bothering God with my silly requests. I forgot that He, my Father, loves to give good gifts to His children. Throughout the Word we see the Lord continuously tell us to ask Him for things, AND He promises that if we believe we will receive those things. If I believe its silly and that He doesn't care about it, then it probably won't happen. He just really wants to show HOW much He cares about your hearts desire. He is so sweet.

We are officially moving into our new home on May 12th!! Woohoo! I am so excited to be in a community again. I am also extremely thankful to everyone who has already offered to help us move... I love how God takes care of the details.Along with a new home be excited about, Brett and I are quickly approaching our first anniversary just two weeks after we move in! What an awesome anniversary gift, Jesus ;)

I got a new CD by Ellie Holcomb by Magnolia this week and I just wanted to share one of her songs. If you haven't heard her music, check her out!
