It is finished!

This morning was sooooooo exciting.... BECAUSE we became homeowners!! We went this morning to sign the papers and pick up the keys to our sweet little three bed, two bath home in Garland, Texas. Words cannot express the joy Brett and I feel that we finally get to move into our new home close to our church family and friends. I have been itching get closer to those we love and spend most of our time with. This year, for me at least, has been hard not having community near by especially being our first year as a married couple. I can't wait to ask people over for dinner and spend time with friends without a 30 mile drive to get there. The Lord has been so good to us in this entire process of house hunting, inspection/appraisal, and closing on the house. I am also very thankful for all that have been praying and encouraging us through advise during our home-buying process. All that's left is to PAINT and move in. We have set the move-date to be May 12th, and I am super excited to spend our first night in our new home.

Pizza Night!

Tonight I decided to try a new pizza recipe. I realized the other day that Sunday nights have turned into pizza nights for us. Back in football season, I would just get a frozen pizza and chicken wings for our dinner the Sunday nights the Cowboys played. Since then most of our Sunday evenings I have made some form of pizza. Here is what I made tonight:

Muffin Pan Pizzas
Can of 8 jumbo biscuits
Pizza sauce
Pepperonis
Jalepinos
Cheese
(You can include any toppings you like in addition to what we did.)

Place each biscuit in muffin hole and press in the middle of dough to make a bowl shape.

Add pizza sauce.

Add your choice of shredded cheese.

Add pepperonis and other meat toppings.

Jalepinos for Brett of course ;)

Bake for 13-15 minutes at 375 degrees. Enjoy!
Here is the final product, and if I do say so myself... they sure are yummy!

What are some special weekly meal you and your family have? Care to share some other fun recipes?

hope does not disappoint

Brett and I are approaching a very exciting week. Next Tuesday we are closing on our house in Garland! Everything was cleared a couple of days ago, and I am so relieved that everything has gone as smooth as it has. Today I have been reflecting on the Lord's faithfulness throughout this experience.

I have been praying for not only a home for us, since probably the end of November, but I have also been praying for closer community. Since Brett and I have been living nearly 35-45 minutes away from our church family it has been nearly impossible for us to spend time, outside of church services, with people. I wrote down this January that "closer community" was something I would hope and ask Jesus for this semester. In Romans 5 it says that His "hope does not disappoint". So many times in my life I have been fearful and hesitant to ask the Lord for things I wanted, good things, not sinful things. I felt selfish and as if I was bothering God with my silly requests. I forgot that He, my Father, loves to give good gifts to His children. Throughout the Word we see the Lord continuously tell us to ask Him for things, AND He promises that if we believe we will receive those things. If I believe its silly and that He doesn't care about it, then it probably won't happen. He just really wants to show HOW much He cares about your hearts desire. He is so sweet.

We are officially moving into our new home on May 12th!! Woohoo! I am so excited to be in a community again. I am also extremely thankful to everyone who has already offered to help us move... I love how God takes care of the details.Along with a new home be excited about, Brett and I are quickly approaching our first anniversary just two weeks after we move in! What an awesome anniversary gift, Jesus ;)

I got a new CD by Ellie Holcomb by Magnolia this week and I just wanted to share one of her songs. If you haven't heard her music, check her out!
