The vision behind the birth of this blog comes from my personal journey, and one that nearly every person goes on as well. We could call this journey "Identity Crisis". I have begun this blog to document, share, and encourage those searching for who they are, their confidence, and self-worth in things that are not eternally satisfying.
The title of this blog was "How the Lilies Grow" and derives its name from a verse in the book of Luke. This blog started as a way to document things that I learned about myself and that occurred in our first few years of marriage. I decided to rename this blog "A Begotten Inheritance" now that we have entered into a new chapter in life: parenthood.
This name derives from the passage of scripture that Lively's name comes from. 1 Peter 1:3-4 says "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you..."
I love this verse, not only because if holds my sweet girl's name in it, but because it holds so many promises to us as believers. Jesus died to give us life not only one day in Heaven, but also for us to experience that life while we are here on earth. I believe Lively and Brett are a part of my "begotten inheritance" because of the life they give me. I experience the goodness and mercy of the Lord through getting to live life with them and it is the greatest gift.
So, this blog is to document my continued journey discovering how to be a better wife, mommy, and servant of the Lord. The lessons I have learned in our short two and half years of marriage have already been priceless, and I cannot wait to see what else the Lord teaches me in the upcoming years. Praise the Lord for this life we get to live.
Blessings,
Brandi
